What is TPH?

Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) is a solution that provides banks with a single platform to configure different payment types without requiring software changes.

The TPH payment management features allow users to:

  • Prioritize payments

  • Set execution dates

  • Manually override changes

  • Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through parameterization

TPH is designed to maximize Straight-Through Processing (STP) by enabling automated handling of exceptions and minimizing manual intervention. This helps reduce operational risk and improve overall efficiency.

Additionally, TPH helps eliminate redundancies by consolidating multiple payment systems into a single, centralized solution.

There is also an additional license called “PEMINT” (Payments External Messaging Interface), installed on the Temenos Transact instance. This component enables Temenos Payments Hub to operate with the Temenos Transact DDA and GL modules.

TPH Architecture

Temenos Payments Hub integrates multiple components to support payment processing across channels and systems. Below are the key architectural elements:

Online Channels

Customer-facing channels that interface with Temenos Payments for payment processing.

Offline or Straight-Through Processing (STP) Channels

External bank channels that send payment requests directly for automated processing.

Interaction Framework (IRIS)

Acts as an API gateway for external or internal applications to submit payment requests and inquire about payment statuses using published APIs.

Integration Framework (CAMEL)

A Temenos Transact framework used by Temenos Payments to receive and send messages in ISO XML format.

Payment Order Application (POA)

Responsible for order capture, management functionality, and supporting the payments processing engine.

What Can We Do with TPH?

Temenos Payments Hub provides several interfaces between Temenos Payments Hub and Temenos Transact.

The available interactions include:

  • Fee and activity restriction

  • Account validation (debit account, credit account, charge account)

  • Funds reservation

  • Cancellation of funds reservation

  • Posting

  • Reversal of posting

  • Fund reservation and posting

Meanwhile, Temenos Transact manages the following activities:

  • External requests initiated from its own user interface

Funds reservation requests pending approval

Why TPH Matters

Without a doubt, TPH is a powerful Temenos interface that enables transaction operations based on external requests. It allows organizations to configure system behavior according to their specific business needs.

It is especially valuable for operations using ISO/XML message formats, the international banking communication standard for exchanging financial information.
